Routine Surgery

We offer routine spay & neuter procedures for dogs and cats! For all of our patients, we require a physical exam and comprehensive pre-anesthetic blood work before surgery can be scheduled. Intravenous catheter and fluid support will also be provided during all surgeries.

Our highly skilled technicians are extensively trained in anesthesia monitoring, and will closely monitor your pet throughout every step of the surgical process and recovery. Once the procedure is complete, you will be provided with detailed discharge information for your pet as well as any necessary materials such as post-op medications or e-collars for recovery at home. Interested in microchipping your pet? Our staff would be happy to provide your pet with a HomeAgain microchip while they are under anesthesia. Additionally, all of our surgery patients receive a complimentary nail trim during their procedure!

Dentistry

Just like your annual visits to the dentist, we provide similar services for your pet with routine dental care and cleaning. Under anesthesia your pet will have a full dental examination to determine the health of every single tooth. Any tooth exhibiting disease will be charted, and you will be alerted immediately if any of these teeth are in need of extraction. Signs of disease include loose teeth, infection, root exposure, fractured teeth, or gingivitis.

We provide extraction services, either surgical or routine.

Once the teeth are examined, we then do a complete dental cleaning with an ultrasonic scaler and finish up by polishing, administering a fluoride treatment, and using a sealant.

Diseased teeth are a source of bacteria and can cause numerous problems throughout the body including the heart, kidneys, and liver. For this reason, dental health is very important, and yearly dental cleanings are recommended as well as daily brushing, dental chews, or enzyme gel treatment, depending on the tolerance of your pet.

Sick and Injured Pet Care

It can be very scary if your dog or cat becomes ill or injured, but we are here to help! Our goal is early detection, comprehensive diagnostics, and effective treatment for the quickest road to recovery. We offer in-house diagnostics for same day results, as well as access to a full outside reference laboratory for more advanced diagnostics to evaluate your pet. We also utilize digital radiography for immediate viewing of high-quality images for a more accurate diagnosis.

Microscopic evaluation of samples can be performed in house and provide important information quickly. We view you as a team member to continue at home care and value your input on what will work best for you and your pet. If more in-depth treatment is required, we offer referrals to nearby specialists to assist with getting your pet the care and attention necessary for their diagnosis.

Radiology

Radiography is a form of diagnostic imaging that allows us to see inside your pet’s body or body parts to determine if your pet’s systems are normal. Radiographs are safe, non-invasive, and painless.

Our skilled professionals will capture your pet’s radiographs with accuracy and compassion to provide a stress-free experience for you and your companion*. From this point, your pet’s radiographs will be reviewed by their veterinarian as well as sent out for interpretation to help determine your pet’s diagnosis and form the best treatment plan going forward.

*Sedation may be required for some patients to get the best view possible.

Lab Analysis/Diagnostics

Our veterinarians have access to extensive laboratory services, which help them to monitor your pet’s lab work for early disease markers or find the cause of a current illness. We have a professional in-house laboratory that allows our staff to quickly perform many diagnostic tests to achieve an accurate and rapid diagnosis - for tests that cannot be analyzed in-house, we have access to our outside laboratory in which full comprehensive evaluation is obtained.

The most common lab tests we offer are blood chemistries, complete blood counts, heartworm & tick borne disease testing, urinalysis, fecal analysis, and so much more! Our dedicated team will provide results to you as soon as they are available via phone or email and be sure to answer any and all questions you may have about results, diagnostics, or treatment plans.

Advanced Surgery

In the event that an invasive surgical procedure becomes necessary, it is comforting to have a doctor that you trust available. As with routine surgical procedures, all patients receive a complete pre-anesthetic evaluation and blood workup prior to any procedure. Intravenous catheter and fluid support are required for invasive surgical procedures.

Our doctors are competent surgeons with experience in many surgical procedures, including, but not limited to:

• Abdominal exploratory surgery (with internal biopsy or foreign body removal)
• Some minor orthopedic procedures: limb and tail amputation, lateral suture cruciate repair for dogs under 50 lbs (consult required), splints, and casts
• Ocular procedures (cherry eye repair, entropion repair, eye removal)
• Internal and external tumor or growth removal
• Cesarean-sections and follow-up care for mom and the litter

Nutrition

Making sure your pet is getting the correct diet can be a huge contributor to your pet’s overall health, and certain patients may need specified or prescription diets to treat certain diagnoses or conditions. We carry a wide range of Hill’ Science Diet prescription products in-clinic that allow us to ensure that your pet is getting the proper nutrition for every meal. Feeding your pet an appropriate diet can maximize your pet’s health and longevity of life.

If we don’t happen to carry the product that your pet needs in-clinic, we are happy to help you find it through our online pharmacy or at your local pet store.

Chronic (or Seasonal) Allergy

Chronic allergies can be a frustrating and difficult condition to manage. However, we offer consultation regarding allergies and will help you to find the best course of treatment for your pet! Open sores, rashes, hair loss, or constant licking or itching can often be signs of an issue with your pet’s skin. If you notice any of these symptoms with your pet, we recommend calling and making an appointment for an evaluation with your veterinarian. Common treatments of allergies or skin infections include (but are not limited to) daily oral medications, monthly allergy injections, medicated topical treatments or shampoos, and prescription diets. We also offer allergy testing. This is a simple blood test that we offer which can be very valuable when trying to eliminate allergies. Results of this test help to specifically identify your pet’s allergens. Some allergens are avoidable such as foods, fleas, and removable plants and may be eliminated from the pet’s environment, while others may require long term management.

Chronic Disease and Chronic Pain Management

We understand that diagnosis is only the beginning, and having an answer sometimes means you are faced with a long-term illness that requires specific medication, diet changes, or even changes to your daily routine. This can be very stressful for pets and pet parents, alike, and we want to do everything we can to make managing long-term conditions as easy and stress-free as possible. We carry most medications and prescription foods you may need right here in the hospital with current, competitive pricing.

If your pet requires a special or flavored medication, we can order it for you. Chronic conditions may also require periodic blood testing. Many of these tests can be performed in-house at a lower price and can be conveniently scheduled for you as an out-patient procedure. We are committed to minimizing pain and discomfort for your pet related to arthritis and chronic disease.

Euthanasia

Deciding to euthanize your companion animal may be one of the most difficult decisions you ever make. Often, well-loved pets are humanely euthanized to minimize unnecessary suffering. We are here to help you navigate this difficult process by listening & answering your questions about your pet’s quality of life, as well as providing a personal, respectful and compassionate environment for you to say goodbye to your companion in the most humane and healthy way for you and your pet.

We work alongside Trusted Journey Pet Memorial Services to provide aftercare & cremation services for your pet. They offer a catalog of personalized urns, clay paw prints, and several other memorial products so that you can honor and cherish your pet’s memory in a meaningful and personal way.

Pharmacy

We want to guarantee that if your pet needs a prescription filled, that we can get it to them as soon as possible. You can skip the unnecessary waiting and inconvenient trips; with our carefully curated in-house pharmacy, we can ensure that your pet will get the most top-of-the-line, modern medications that veterinary medicine has to offer before you even leave our building!

We offer prescription refill services over the phone, in-clinic, or through our online pharmacy. Our staff will be sure that you are provided accurate and detailed information about each medication your pet is prescribed and answer any questions you may have.
